Maintenance Technician
Overview Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the employee will assist in performing general building maintenance and repair work involving plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical. Open to Doyon Shareholders ONLY. This is a Temporary position. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs moderately complex maintenance duties such as carpentry, painting, HVAC, plumbing and maintenance etc. Perform clean-up and some janitorial duties. Shoveling and sanding sidewalks. Understand and execute oral and written instructions and to read and understand building and equipment diagrams and maintenance instructions. Moving and lifting and be able to lift 50 pounds safely. Bend, stoop, reach, and work safely from ladders. Work independently or cooperatively as a member of a team to complete work on schedule and according to quality control standards. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, building occupants, and the public. Basic knowledge of small tools and building operational components. Ability to interact effectively with tenants and subcontractors. Capable of handling multi tasks and deadlines Other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Driver's license, ready access to a registered vehicle and must be able to provide proof of state-required insurance on a registered vehicle WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a maintenance/general labor and kitchen setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than fifty (50) pounds.
