**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** On-site at US Steel in the slitting department. Oversee 8 slitting tables, adjust machinery, tooling, and shears. Utilize calipers to quality check machinery and complete PMs per schedule. Troubleshoot and repair slitter tables. Utilize Allen Bradley PLCs to monitor faults and conditions (no reprogramming required). Work with 480V systems, rewire motors, and solder coder cables. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic motors. Maintain production and equipment. Rotating Shift: Will rotate weekly between 1st shift (7am-3pm), 2nd shift (3pm-11pm), and 3rd shift (11pm-7am). Will work weekends and could move to 12-hour shifts if needed. Training for 1-2 months on day shift with lead Technician. **Hard Skills** + 80/20 Electrical/Mechanical Experience + Slitter Machine operating and repair experience + Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience **Job Type** This is a permanent position. **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Gary, Indiana. **Work Environment** Will be working within US Steel, responsible for 8 slitter tables with a team of other employees. Will be working with 20+ individuals in a heavy industrial steel environment.
