Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position offers an hourly rate of $35 for the 1st shift and $35.50 for the 2nd or 3rd shifts. Candidates must be open to working any shift due to a union bid system. The role involves maintaining the facility, hot stamping presses, and lasers, with responsibilities split evenly between electrical and mechanical tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, including PLCs, welding, and hydraulics. **Responsibilities** + Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. + Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas. + Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other issues. + Remove and replace worn or defective parts. + Realign and adjust components such as spindles and clutches. + Locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machines, measure, cut, thread, and install new pipes. + Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair. + Repair broken parts. + Wire and troubleshoot basic electrical control circuits. + Perform all duties and operate machinery and equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.). + Modify computer-controlled motion of robots. + Assist engineers in modifying sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic systems and drive mechanisms. + Maintain punctual and regular attendance. + Work any assigned shift. + Keep work areas clean and orderly. + Participate in continuous improvement activities. + Assume other duties as directed by the supervisor. + Read and understand the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015, and ISO-14001 procedures. **Essential Skills** + 4+ years of Maintenance Technician experience and troubleshooting. + 4+ years of mechanical maintenance experience - hydraulics, motors, gears, gearboxes, conveyors, welding. + 2+ years of electrical maintenance experience - PLC, 480V, prox switches, limit switches, etc. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Journeyman Card + Stamping experience + Laser experience + Hot stamping **Why Work Here?** This is a direct hire position with union benefits after 90 days and ample opportunities for overtime. With 190 hourly workers, 35 salaried employees, and 5-20 contractors/temps, the plant operates multiple shifts dictated by seniority under a bid system. Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (6 am - 2:30 pm), 2nd shift (2 pm - 10:30 pm), and 3rd shift (10 pm - 6 am). The work week typically runs Monday through Saturday, with an average of 55-65 hours per week. The facility includes 6 hot stamping lines, 4 blanking presses, 2 Coil Fed Transfer presses, and 23 5-Axis laser cutting machines. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, Michigan. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
