**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Technician (Level 1) will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance programs for food processing machines, packing and sealing machines, forklift equipment, and mechanically and drive-driven conveyor systems. This role also involves troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, utilizing various hand tools and testing equipment, and adhering to all relevant safety regulations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct preventative maintenance programs for food processing machines, packing and sealing machines, forklift equipment, and mechanically and drive-driven conveyor systems.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns in machines and conveyors and generate repair plans.
+ Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to perform machine and conveyor diagnostics and all repair work.
+ Properly adhere to all HACCP/FDA regulations, GMP regulations, and lock-out, tag-out regulations when preparing machines for repair on down schedules.
+ Replace faulty switches and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
+ Work with Ladder Logic.
+ Maintain knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety.
+ Use electronic and electrical test equipment including digital and analog volt and ohm-meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers, and circuit testers.
+ Apply knowledge of current national electrical code.
+ Demonstrate ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and experience working on breaking down machines.
+ Experience using testing equipment to diagnose machine issues.
+ Exposure to PLCs.
+ Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
+ Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
+ Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety.
+ Basic understanding of mechanical applications and principles.
+ Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with preventative maintenance, machine repair, motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, blueprint reading, electrical, PLC control, schematic reading, and Ladder Logic.

**Work Environment**
The warehouse is divided into two main areas where the maintenance technician will work: food services and PC/cups. Food services machines are longer and slower-running, while PC/cups are high-volume machines that frequently break down. Most technicians will spend their time in the PC/cups department but must be able to learn all the machines. This is a food manufacturing environment producing sauce products, with exposure to various smells, scents, and liquid contact daily. Machines are constantly running, requiring hearing protection. Work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed, and may involve working outside in adverse temperatures, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration is possible. Personal protective equipment is required, and work in confined and dark spaces may be necessary.
