TITLE: Maintenance Technician

STATUS : o Full time - Hourly o Full time - Salary ü Part Time - Hourly
CLASIFICATION (FLSA): o Exempt ü Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs work according to standard procedures. Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways and windows. Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors. Uses vacuum cleaners to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds. Dust furniture and equipment. Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills. Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs. Performs touch-up and finish painting. Empties wastebaskets. Replenishes restroom supplies. Replace light bulbs. Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms. Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures. Opens and closes buildings according to security procedures. Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
TASKS AND DETAILED WORK ACTIVITIES:
+ Inspect internal and external areas daily, and will inform the immediate supervisor of any damage.
+ Clean all areas daily to maintain a safe and appealing place for employees and visitors.
+ Maintain contact with staff and supervisor to receive and provide information, discuss situations, explain guides and instructions, and offer advice.
+ Perform routine maintenance ensuring health and safety measures.
+ Clean and polish floors and carpets using a pressure machine or any other equipment necessary for this purpose.
+ Provide support to the Clubs and will mobilize if necessary to carry out maintenance-related tasks.
+ Maintain or repair specialized equipment or machinery located in the facilities.
+ Support the painting and repair of doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, or other parts of building structures, when necessary.
+ Participates in committee work, family activities, and organizational activities.
+ Perform any other task requested by the supervisor.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma.
+ At least one (1) year or more of experience working in maintenance and/or repairs.
+ Evidence of identification card issued by the Employment Service Program (Model PRSE 506).
+ Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
+ Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
+ Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
+ Building and Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
+ Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Materials — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
+ Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment — Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical (not electronic) principles.
+ Repairing and Maintaining Electronic Equipment — Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily based on electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
+ Controlling Machines and Processes — Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
+ Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. May reach above shoulder height or below the waist and lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday must be able to lift 15 pounds and use proper lifting techniques.
+ Performing General Physical Activities — performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
