MAU is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our client in Waterloo, IA. As a Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with production and support equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Benefits Package 401k matching Life insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Short term disability Long term disability Paid time off Shift Information Monday to Thursday | 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM Required Education and Experience Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or technical school, OR 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training, OR An equivalent combination of education and experience General Requirements Proficiency in reading and using measurement tools Strong math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to apply practical problem-solving skills to follow detailed written or verbal instructions effectively Essential Functions Diagnose, plan, and execute mechanical and/or electrical tasks to modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild various types of equipment, including addressing complex failures Interpret drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately Identify appropriate components and determine installation requirements effectively Utilize standard mechanic’s tools and inspection gauges to ensure precise work Maintain a clean and organized workspace by removing debris, cleaning parts and tools, and storing equipment properly Strictly adhere to lockout/tagout procedures for safety Implement temporary fixes when necessary and document work orders for permanent repairs Work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks efficiently Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations Work Environment or Working Conditions Employees must be able to work in varying Iowa climates, enduring both heat and cold conditions within the facility. The work environment is fast-paced, with high noise levels and potential exposure to paint fumes and chemicals. The company will provide personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required by OSHA. Physical Demands Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to or exceeding 50 lbs. Capable of standing or walking for an entire shift, ranging from 8 to 10 hours Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolds, as well as in confined spaces such as pits
