Maintenance Technician
Job Requirements

Shift pattern:

36 hours per week

12 hours shift 6-6, mix of days and nights (6 days a week operation), NO Sundays!

Typical schedule: 6 nights / 6 day shifts per month, 2 Saturdays per month

This role is to provide both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Rawtenstall facility. The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.

The Job Holder will need to be capable of working with the minimum amount of supervision, self-managing their workload as well as often being the sole technical resource on site. Capable of working from a plan covering planned, preventative, predictive and Reliability Centered Maintenance.

Responsible for tasks and improvement work using effective problem-solving and trouble shooting.

To provide feedback on completed tasks, root cause and follow-up work. Must have a good level of communication skill both verbal & written.

Responsibilities will include:

Maintain, and troubleshoot all plant and machinery associated with nonwoven textile,  and all other operational equipment.

Mechanical control and electrical equipment, building and structural equipment and systems.

Production equipment

Material handling equipment

Dust collection equipment

Experience in preventive maintenance

Use power and hand tools to perform a variety of tasks including machine repair, electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Lubrication Basics

Review and complete work order assignments.

Respond to verbal or written work assignments from Maintenance Manager, or other personnel as required during shift coverage.

Inform supervisor of work in progress.

Checks for safety hazards, takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards.

Maintain applicable logs, records, equipment history folders, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals in an accurate and comprehensive manner.

Perform any necessary task or assignment needed to ensure consistent service.

Requirements:

Mechanical and Electrical background

Diploma or apprenticeship

5 years' experience in maintenance

Ideally, textile manufacturing or printing manufacturing background

Experience with moving machinery and pneumatics
