The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the site maintenance at the New Castle through daily work orders, preventative maintenance orders and emergency repairs under the direction of the Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor. Incumbents are required to work safely and adhere to the site EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines while performing tasks.

Key deliverables for the position include the following:
Responsible for the maintenance of all plant and lab resources, site utilities and grounds under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.Field experience and demonstrated proficiency in any of the following subject matter areas:Mechanical maintenance of production equipment,Utility systems maintenance and repairElectrical maintenance, instrumentation, and controls.Ability to read a P&ID and identify the corresponding equipment.Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance on equipment in the assigned areas including Inspections, general maintenance, and scheduled overhauls.Use analytical troubleshooting skills to recognize system and equipment problems, identify true cause, and recommend/ implement solutions that prevent problem reoccurrence.Duties include piping installations and repairs for process and compressed air systems with various piping materials, PVC, stainless steel, ABS, polypropylene, etc.Install, modify, run & maintain new and existing plant process equipment and systems.Ability to maintain, trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment including:BoilersChillersCompressed Air SystemsPiping systemsDI water systemsFans/blowersPumpsAir handlersMotorsGearboxesElectrical controlsScalesWater treatmentProduction and Packaging EquipmentRepair of facilities, recognizing abnormal operating situations and potential safety hazards.Demonstrated understanding and operational familiarity with PC/PLC control systems.Operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as power tools, welders, motors, etc.Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.Attention to Detail: Accurate data entry and documentation. Thoroughness in following maintenance procedures.Perform and document work in compliance with SOP’s, Safety Health & Environment (SHE) standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) including work orders, PM’s, logbooks, and permits.Maintain documentation on repairs and record parts and material used and submit ordered to the Maintenance Supervisor.Perform installation for small size plant capital projects.Perform equipment inspections and recommend repairs or future replacement to the Maintenance Supervisor.Operate industrial forklifts and other motorized equipment as required.Ability to perform minor welding.

EXPERIENCE
High school degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.Must have working knowledge of OSHA and GMP requirements as they pertain to maintenance activities throughout the plant.Competent with mechanical and piping installations and repairsMinor welding competencyWorking knowledge of overall building operations relating to engineering/maintenance including pipefitting, welding, millwrighting, general carpentry work, painting, and general building constructionGeneral understanding of instrumentation and process control systems maintenance.Basic computer skills include the use of standard office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and Computerized maintenance programs.Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule and mandatory overtime as required in supporting manufacturing schedule.
