**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician in the Binghamton, NY area to assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of equipment. The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. This maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following diagrams, reading operations manuals, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist in installation, set up, and maintenance of equipment
+ Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
+ Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks
+ Maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of equipment and work areas by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations
**Essential Skills**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Strong mechanical aptitude
+ 1+ years' experience in industrial maintenance
+ Knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair
+ Experience with preventive maintenance
+ Ability to read blueprints and welding
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members
+ Knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to diagnose and fix problems
+ Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air and fluid valves, solenoids, motors, starters, breakers, pumps, material flow, limit switches, welding, and torches is a plus
+ Knowledge of plastics extrusion processing is a plus
+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs periodically throughout the day

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vestal, New York.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
