Maintenance Technician
**Description:** Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will perform start-up and shut-down procedures, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of Virginia Hospital Laundry, Inc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Repair and maintain production equipment such as large industrial washers, dryers, feeders and folders. Repair and maintain facility equipment such as boilers, compressors, heat exchanger and lighting. Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed. Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so that minimal down-time is experienced. Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner. Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by VHL, law, and also recognized as common practice in the industry. Remain current on equipment and repair procedures. Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed. Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools. Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phases 240/480 volt systems preferred PLC troubleshooting and programming experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction performs, basic math, good time management skills and be a team player.
