Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for machine maintenance, including diagnosing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance. This role assists in overhauling and installing equipment and will be cross-trained for both blow molding and injection molding. The position supports process improvement and new technology processes to achieve goals for safety, quality, and profitability. The technician will develop and document processes and assist various departments and managers as required.

ResponsibilitiesComply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.Adhere to all instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, and housekeeping procedures.Tend to a group of blow molding machines, specifically Uniloy and Bekum machines.Make frequent quality checks on the product, observing for deviations in weight, sidewall thickness, flash, and adjusting to correct product defects.Perform quality checks and analysis on the product.Make frequent checks of heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures, extruder, and hydraulic units.Maintain various daily production and quality reports.Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on all machines and support equipment.Monitor and adjust bottle processes to optimize bottle quality and minimize scrap.Perform mold and line changeovers.Show proficiency in blow molding and injection molding equipment operations and troubleshooting.Follow proper start-up and shutdown procedures as per company and machine requirements.Assist with machine installations.Assist with cross-training technicians.Essential SkillsBlow MoldingInjection MoldingExtrusion MoldingTroubleshootingHydraulicsPreventive MaintenanceElectrical MaintenanceIndustrial Manufacturing MaintenanceAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school graduate or General Education Degree with a two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program, or 5 years equivalent work-related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot 110v-480v single and 3-phase electrical systems and components.Experience with 3-phase motors, AC/DC drives, fuses, relays, and switches.Blueprint and schematic reading.Ability to work in a 'rougher' environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The facility operates 14 Blow Molding Machines and lines, employing 35 production employees per shift with 3 maintenance personnel on each shift. The environment is well-lit and clean but can be considered 'rougher.' The ideal candidate is positive, highly skilled, and strong-willed, focusing on achieving goals rather than just monetary rewards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Melrose Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00
