We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic Technician, you will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. This is a contract-to-hire position with a 6-month contract period. The position works the 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment including control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shafts, motor and bearing replacements.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.Work with production associates and management to solve production issues and maximize efficiencies.Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.Apply technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.Assist with planning/scheduling and storeroom staff for CMMS tracking including work orders, parts, and purchase requisitions.Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to access and remove defective parts.Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.Manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.Use the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and machines and document hours worked on work orders.Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.Weld, perform sheet metal work, and employ basic shop floor skills such as using a lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Essential SkillsMinimum of three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.Experience with control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shafts, motor and bearing replacements.Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces.Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.Experience with SAP Work Order system.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.Additional Skills & QualificationsFood and beverage industry experience is a plus, but not required.Welding and heavy equipment experience.Experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintenance repair in food manufacturing.Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.Why Work Here?
