Maintenance Technician

JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment. Meter reading, Hydrant flushing, Valve exercising and water meter turn off and turn on.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Lead Maintenance Technician in performing various maintenance tasksCleans and maintains tools and equipmentPrepares rigs for daily useRepairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses, and other equipmentMaintains files and records of work orders and task completionCleans shop area as assignedConducts routine equipment maintenance testsUnderstands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to write simple correspondencesAbility to follow written and oral instructionsWilling to learn and helpPrevious water or wastewater treatment experience is desirableWilling to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and 0-1-year related experiences and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to frequently lift 50 poundsAble to climb ladders and stairwaysAble to pass fit test for Self-Contained Breathing ApparatusMust be able to access confined spaces
