Maintenance Technician

Requirements: 

Successful completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.Demonstrated proficiency in industrial maintenance and fault finding. on electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems. Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and /or mechanical diagrams as well as fault finding in control panels and on industrial systems.Experience in any of the following will be advantageous: PLC’s, Fabrication, Welding, Vacuum Technology.Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications would be an advantage.Resilient, resourceful approach, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.Ability to pass medical which includes assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.

An opportunity has arisen within the Exeter Casting Maintenance department for a multiskilled Maintenance Technician. Applicants with a single skill in Electrical maintenance will be considered.  This is a permanent, full-time shift position.


Your main responsibilities will include:

Minimise production downtime by fault finding and resolving equipment breakdowns whilst preventing reoccurrences.Using electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation to undertake fault finding and modification to industrial plant and equipment.Carry out preventative / planned maintenance work.Contribute to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and eliminating recurring faults.Perform Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance work on Industrial equipment and building infrastructure.Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to all EHS Company policies.Continuously enhance job knowledge through on site experience, training, and development opportunities.
