\n \n Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance duties of Desert Aire involving mostly plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, maintenance of all pumps and controls in the canal systems, responsible for AC controls and coordinating maintenance, adjusting and maintaining time clocks, small gas motors repair skills would be beneficial, and minor roofing repairs in addition to other exterior responsibilities to guarantee that the communities we manage are properly and safely maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

\n

\n\nPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.\nPerform maintenance tasks such as plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained.\nClean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains.\nOperate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems & equipment as needed.\n\n

Other Duties and Responsibilities

\n\nMaintain company issued vehicle (routine PMs, oil changes etc.)\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

Knowledge and Skills

\n

\n\nMust be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and clients.\nKnowledge of general maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)\nGeneral knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)\nKnowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.\nKnowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.\nKnowledge of company policies, procedures, and forms.\nTime management and time-critical prioritization skills.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented and a team player.\n\n

Physical Demands

\n

\n\nAbility to safely operate, climb and perform work on ladders (1-2 stories)\nAbility to operate smartphone & email (day-to-day operations, basic communication/monthly expense reports)\nMust have a valid driver’s license and be insurable to operate a vehicle \nMust be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis.\nMust be able to sit, stand, bend, pull/push, grasp, twist, reach above shoulder, walk, stoop, kneel and climb.\nMust be able to use hands and fingers to input data to information systems and talk or hear to gather and provide information on departmental processes.\n\n

Education and Experience

\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED Required\n3 - 5 years of directly related or closely related experience\n\n

Travel Requirements

\n\nTravel may be required (no overnights)\n\n

Working Conditions:

\n\nTypical outside work environment year-round (frequent standing, walking, lifting, and/or operating powered equipment using proper safety techniques or tools), exposure to elements like rain, heat or cold.\nOvertime may be required.\n\n

Wage Rage: $26-$32 per hour depending on experience.
