2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Oversee all mechanical systems in the distribution center. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities across a wide range of material handling equipment to support safe and efficient operations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance on conveyor systems, sorters, powered conveyors, truck loaders, and other material handling equipment.Perform corrective maintenance on packaging equipment, trash compactors, balers, etc.Conduct facilities maintenance, such as addressing lighting issues, fire sprinkler systems, standby generators, and mechanical system outages.Handle operational maintenance and safety issues.Research new equipment decisions, maintain inventory levels, and order consumable supplies.Train level 2 technicians and apprentices in proper maintenance, repair, and inspection methods.Act as top-level support for fire/sprinkler systems, standby generators, HVAC equipment, and other equipment within the fulfillment center.Climb ladders and use forklifts, scissor lifts, saws, drills, hand tools, etc.Partner with the Fulfillment Center leadership team to understand mission requirements and support needed operational changes through planning and executing directives.Essential Skills5+ years of mechanical experience with automation (robotics), conveyors, sorters, and other common warehouse equipment.Experience in mechanical, electrical, maintenance management, or HVAC.Ability to troubleshoot problems on equipment/machines.Experience with hand and power tools.Knowledge of conveyors/packaging equipment.Mechanical and electrical knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsTrade school certification.HVAC experience.DC troubleshooting.Robotics experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a distribution environment with lots of warehouse and picking/packing stations. The facility includes upper-level robotics stations, and the team consists of five maintenance technicians and one maintenance manager.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.08 - $27.00
