**Job Description:**
**Position Summary:**
To perform problem solving, diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of highspeed automated packaging machinery and associated support equipment. Including support of cost savings initiatives, process improvements for reliability & efficiency gains and building maintenance support.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain, repair, and rebuild high speed packaging and auxiliary machinery in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This includes, but not limited to; mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, facility and grounds.
+ Independently diagnose, identify root-cause and repair problems with mechanical/electro-mechanical apparatuses of moderate complexity and their interrelated electrical, electronic & pneumatic components and controls.
+ Keep all manufacturing lines up and running and assist manufacturing and engineering teams with problems relating to packaged product quality and machine safety, including use of lock out / tag out procedures.
+ Support maintenance of facility & grounds equipment & building security systems.
+ Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. Perform 6-S activities and improvements as required.
+ Maintain spare parts inventory & replenishment, including hand tools, power tools and perishable supplies inventory and replenish as needed.
+ Perform proactive walk throughs to identify looming problems to schedule and perform repairs.
+ Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work area.
+ Track machine downtime per shift in support or machine maintenance projects.
+ Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned

**Job Requirements:**
+ HS Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree with emphasis in electrical/electronic and /or automation preferred.
+ 3+ years Maintenance Technician experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting in a related field
+ Read and understand Electrical schematics and how they control and operate machinery
+ Familiarity with electrical components operation and functionality: Drives, power supplies, amplifiers, transformers, contactors, relays, capacitors, resistors, automatic switches including reed, limit, positive negative positive, negative positive negative, photoelectric components, with the ability to trouble shoot electrical circuits by performing resistance, current, voltage measurements.
+ Read and understand pneumatic diagrams and how they operate associated components
+ Troubleshoot pneumatic circuits and a working knowledge of principles and functionality of valves, valve manifolds, pressure switches, linear and rotary actuators, flow controls, air preparation equipment with the ability to trouble shoot & repair
+ Read and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams including assembly and part drawings
+ Perform mechanical assembly, alignment and disassembly of moderate complexity with ability to self-establish appropriate sequence of assembly
+ Use hand measuring tools such as micrometer, caliper, gauge pins, feeler gauges to verify fit and function for assembly/repair and to support performing mechanical troubleshooting
+ Make simple sketches of required fixes/modification to communicate with engineering and outside vendors
+ Effectively communicate and work with direct manufacturers on equipment troubleshooting
+ Effectively work with outside contractors to perform specialized tasks
+ Track ongoing systemic problems with equipment and communicate to engineering for resolution
+ To Safely operate hand tools & shop equipment such as disk grinder, sander, band saw, drill press, manual mill, hand drill, etc., with basic metalworking skills to drill, tap, file, ream, & mill basic machine components
+ Able to read and understand operating instructions and to interpret complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and electrical schematics.
+ Related licenses/certifications are a plus.
+ Able to work in a team environment.
**Work Environment:**
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes such as different cleaning solutions or adhesives, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas (glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes). **Physical Demands:**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to walk, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in small areas inside machine cells. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Hourly base range for this position is $32.00-$40.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
