Job Description
This position is responsible for setting up molds, cycling them into specifications, maintaining operations in a safe and efficient manner, and ensuring acceptable quality and production requirements.
ResponsibilitiesSet up molds and cycle into specifications.Understand various materials, mixing materials, automatic color blenders, and cycles.Explain why different materials require different cycles.Identify and distinguish various defects and dimensions.Possess knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems of machines.Troubleshoot minor problems and make adjustments to meet specifications.Properly shut down and start up machines.Train and assist other technicians in performing their duties.Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.Assist other job classifications and perform work as assigned.Assist in the training of other maintenance, production, and personnel in areas of expertise.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Monitor assigned line’s operation while complying with safety, quality, production, and housekeeping standards.Apply knowledge in maintenance and repair of extrusion, auxiliary, and support equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedures.Analyze, set up, and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation including extrusion and mechanical systems.Essential SkillsAbility to read electrical schematics and identify symbols and control circuits.Understanding and troubleshooting PLC program and logic.Competency in troubleshooting electrical circuits.Experience with the installation of motors, relays, starters, and control circuits.Ability to read hydraulic schematics and identify symbols and control circuits.Competency in troubleshooting hydraulic circuits.Capability to repair, change, or upgrade equipment status.Proficiency in performing maintenance on various types of equipment.Skills with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, blowing and vacuum pumps, pneumatic circuits, and welding/fabrication.Troubleshooting, blow mold, hydraulics, pneumatics, maintenance repair, electrical, mechanical, preventive maintenance, blow molding or plastics.Experience with preventive maintenance, mechanically inclined, plastic repair, blow molding, extrusion, molding machine, machine maintenance, molding, blueprint reading, injection mold, mold, schematic reading, packaging, and plastic injection.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred, or 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance role.Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., technical or vocational education).Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.Basic math, computer, and organizational skills.Ability to read schematics and blueprints.Demonstrated maintenance and troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as systems using electric motors and sensors for operational functions.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The facility is a 90,000 sq feet flexible packaging company that services various industries around the world. This location specializes in plastic extrusion for various foods and consumer products, including shampoo, lotion, and cleaning solution bottles of various sizes and colors. The facility has 15 extrusion lines and 2 labeling lines. The machinery includes extrusion and mostly mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic driven machines.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00
