JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:  Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician I is responsible for daily functions of operations and facilities systems, as well as the manufacturing equipment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of skill across several trade disciplines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintaining (PM’s, Breakdowns and calibrations) plant equipment to maximize uptime and efficiency and complete work orders in SAP system with detailed notes.Contacts and schedules outside contractual services as needed.Be a safety leader. Assess, Complete and be accountable for making improvements to operational and maintenance safety.Be capable of in-depth planning of minor plant modifications, routine maintenance and major breakdowns specific to trade discipline.Must be self-starter and able to complete complex repairs and assessments with minimal direction.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  

Requires off-hours on call coverage on a rotating schedule.Must possess excellent verbal/written interpersonal communication skills to interact with personnel at all levels within internal and external groups on specific assignment/tasks. Knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, construction, HVAC, and safety regulations as required by discipline. Mechanical/technical aptitude to effectively evaluate internal customer needs and validate performance of contractors.Must be able to assure that manufacturing equipment is operated, maintained, and improved to provide safe and efficient performance. Participates with outside associations and/or regulatory groups within established guidelines.Proficient in the use of a wide variety of computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project. 2+ years’ experience with computerized maintenance system SAP or the equivalent.Verified experience within heavy industrial setting such as HVAC, Hydraulic, Vacuum, Fabrication, Welding.Must be familiar with basic construction details and materials, the design and operating requirements of plant services systems and equipment and have a working familiarity with environmental control requirements.Must have an interest and ability to work with skilled workers, as well as outside contractors for plants systems maintenance and repair work.Completes additional duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, drawings, manuals, and technical journals.  Ability to write reports and standard documentation (e.g., SOPs).  Ability to communicate effectively with other employees within the organization and with outside vendors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

Vocational degree or equivalent combination of requirements above coupled with 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.


 

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
