Working as part of the Corporate Asset Team, you will be in the forefront of the Council’s innovative drive to deliver and maintain a high quality corporate asset portfolio by supporting the in-house maintenance team in providing basic repair or holding works as and when required across the Council's operational corporate portfolio.
As an experienced Maintenance Technician, you will act as the direct contact for rectifying minor MEP and building fabric defects ensuring initial holding works are facilitated in line with relevant regulatory or legislative requirements.
In addition, using your expertise, you will assist with PPMs, identifying need for escalating defects to appropriate contractors and supporting on site delivery of works ensuring costs and quality reflect best value for money and support the Council’s cost savings agenda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for taking client briefs and providing technical specifications. To complete general maintenance of building fabric and elements including painting, plumbing, carpentry and general repairs i.e. lock replacement, toilet areas. To respond to emergency call-out requests across multiple sites as at when required. To achieve prompt first hand effective response to emergency situations, being capable to diagnose faults and initiating action to prevent deterioration. To liaise with specialist Contractors and Engineers of various disciplines to ensure the efficient delivery of works. Ensure all works are completed within specified timescales in line with service level agreements via CAFM system. Liaise with suppliers obtaining quotations for review and approvals.Key Competencies
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Extensive experience of general repairs and maintenance Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle workloads and prioritise effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information and ideas.Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required at the Enhanced level.
