Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

Lead troubleshooting and corrective maintenance related to equipment, acting as the first level of escalation for lower-level technicians. Responsibilities include inspecting, operating, or testing machinery or equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions. Dismantle and rebuild machinery, equipment, and/or field devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance tasks such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other preventive maintenance tasks. Lead the PdM program, perform repairs, verify lower technician’s findings and repairs, and track pre- and post-repair performance changes to provide trend reports for site leadership.

ResponsibilitiesInspect, operate, and test machinery or equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.Dismantle and rebuild machinery, equipment, and/or field devices to access and remove defective parts.Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.Lead the PdM program, including performing repairs and tracking performance changes.Utilize prints, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and/or parts catalogs as necessary.Repair machines, equipment, or structures using various tools.Maintain and troubleshoot relay logic and control field devices.Mentor junior technicians and peers by providing positive motivation and guidance.Review and complete work orders timely, conducting necessary maintenance or repairs.Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures at all times.Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments and communicate with Plant Management regarding maintenance issues.Complete daily reports outlining maintenance or repairs conducted.Perform continued education and training in related multi-craft skills.Participate in root cause analysis events for the local site.Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.Support all safety, food quality, and sanitation initiatives and policies.Essential SkillsElectrical troubleshootingMechanical maintenanceHydraulics and pneumaticsExperience with 3-phase electrical systemsAbility to perform preventive maintenanceHVAC and PLC troubleshootingMentoring and training skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsLEVEL 1 CANDIDATE: Schooling to 2 years of experienceLEVEL 2 CANDIDATE: 3 to 5 years of experienceLEVEL 3 CANDIDATE: 7+ years of experienceWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The role requires working with various tools and equipment, including hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing devices. You will need to provide your own tools. The work environment involves complying with safety standards, maintaining clear communication with plant management, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frontenac, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
