Maintenance Technician
Overview

As a Maintenance Technician on our Facilities team, you will join a renowned support organization for our nine story, Class A office building. Your role will entail working closely with our tenants to understand, diagnose, and repair issues within their office spaces as well as support ongoing initiatives to maintain and improve our office building and surrounding space. We are looking for a dynamic individual with superior maintenance and communication skills to join us as we move forward with these and other initiatives, which include equipment replacement and overall building renovations as well as requested tenant improvements. In carrying out your duties, you will be given autonomous responsibility for projects as well as work with team members to ensure all projects are completed on time and within code requirements.

 

In this role, you will:

Interact with tenants on a professional level and diagnose issues/problem; complete work orders in a timely mannerPerform light repairs to building plumbing and electrical systems, including preventative maintenance on HVAC systems (changing filters and cleaning)Change light bulbs and ceiling tiles throughout the building when necessaryCoordinate and manage vendor relationships; accompany vendors to work site to complete jobs and monitor progress to completionManage inventory of maintenance materials and supplies; ensure shop area remains clean at all timesPaint surfaces throughout the building, including scraping, spackling, sanding, filling cracks and holes, etc.Build, move, and repair office furniture as needed

 


What we're looking for
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an electrical, mechanical or technical maintenance role within a commercial office building or apartment complex required; experience utilizing and/or supporting energy management systems a plusHigh School diploma or equivalent is requiredExcellent communication skills required; ability to function autonomously with little supervision as well as in a team environment requiredCareful attention to detail; ability to recognize potential facility related problems and take proactive measures to correct requiredMust possess strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the facilities/maintenance fieldCompliance with OSHA Safety and Health rules and observation of safety standards with all work functions requiredAbility to troubleshoot HVAC systems requiredAbility to lift 50lbs required
