World-class domestic manufacturing facilities allow MAT Industries to offer high-quality air compressors, air tools, and accessories to retailers under brands such as Powermate®, Industrial Air®, Industrial Air Contractor®, and Sanborn® as well as private labels. Our air compressors are sold through retailers, including major home centers, hardware co-ops, independents, and farm and fleet stores around the US.
SUMMARY: The candidate will be responsible for working on a wide range of projects and repairs on production and facility-related equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Hours are 6:00 am—2:30 pm Monday through Friday. Overtime is based on production demands, and if needed, it would be scheduled for Friday and possibly Saturday.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
+ Maintain a clean work area and promote company 5S policies.
+ Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as well as PM’s on equipment and facilities
+ Identify root causes of maintenance downtime and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
+ Order repair parts for maintenance repairs to equipment and facilities.
+ Identify critical parts and make recommendations on additional spare parts inventory.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent AND completion of a two-year vocational maintenance training program OR apprenticeship program emphasizing industrial maintenance is required. The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas;
+ Minimum 5 years of multi-skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
+ Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
+ Must have a working knowledge of the National Electric Code
+ Able to read and understand blueprints
+ Must have welding & fabrication skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, electronic, etc.
+ Must be self-motivated and have proven strong leadership skills.
+ Must have excellent decision-making and team motivational skills.
+ Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, adversity, and changes.
+ Must be willing to have a flexible work schedule that supports production and process improvements
JOB PREREQUISITES:
+ Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hour week. Sometimes, it may be necessary to work additional hours to accomplish the required tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Highly motivated and well-organized.
+ Maintain high personal standards of quality.
+ Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and effectively communicate with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.
+ Excellent problem-solving and team motivational skills are a must.
+ Must be flexible, adapt to changes in the work environment, and manage competing demands. Flexible hours may be required when necessary to reach company goals.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management, and outside contractors.

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
The position is subject to extended periods of sitting depending on the nature of the issues at hand. Along with this is the occasional lifting of boxes and bending or crouching.
