As a Maintenance Technician, you will be proficient in mechanics and electrical fields, capable of working independently and contributing to the development of other maintenance disciplines. You will understand and maintain typical industrial components that are arrayed into machines that accomplish specific tasks.

ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.Troubleshoot and repair line equipment.Support the facility by repairing other equipment as needed.Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs and maintenance.Replace P.C. Boards and program VFD's.Identify, repair, and replace broken machine components.Diagnose malfunctions and analyze results using testing devices.Perform preventative maintenance and inspect parts for signs of excessive wear or damage.Repair, modify, and/or replace parts on all production and facility equipment.Maintain, replace, and repair all pneumatic equipment.Troubleshoot complex pneumatic system issues.Repair and maintain air compressors and other plant utility systems.Identify energy loss and correct issues.System troubleshooting and problem-solving for team production problems.Replace/repair hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pumps.Maintain work and shop area and stock tools, parts, and supplies.Keep written records of work performed.Perform preventative maintenance inspections.Complete repairs and parts replacements.Repair, install, adjust, or maintain machines or vehicles.Participate in safety observations, safe work practices, LOTO, and job hazard analysis.Adhere to good manufacturing practices and proper quality documentation.Develop fundamental skills such as reading schematics and blueprints, mathematics, power tools, measurements, and hand tools.Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities.Identify equipment maintenance needs.Essential SkillsElectrical troubleshootingMechanical troubleshootingPLC troubleshootingExperience with VFDsExperience with 480V electrical systemsUnderstanding of electrical drawings and wiring schematicsStrong communication skillsStrong general mechanical aptitudeDetail-orientedDisplay a strong sense of ownership for workAdditional Skills & QualificationsLevel 1 Techs: Good general mechanical knowledge, motivated and willing to learn, knowledgeable of different tools and how mechanical things work together.Level 2 Techs: 3-5 years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience, ideally from a manufacturing background. Strong preference for electrical knowledge and experience with 480V electrical troubleshooting.Level 3 Techs: 5+ years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience from within a manufacturing plant, with a strong preference for food manufacturing experience. Strong electrical skills and potentially some commercial refrigeration experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Most likely three on the 2nd shift. There are two separate shifts: a day shift and a second shift, both running Monday through Friday. Candidates must be open to working either shift and one day on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). 1st shift: 4:00am to 12:30pm. 2nd shift: 11:30am to 8:00pm. The climate-controlled food manufacturing plant is located just east of downtown, featuring lots of conveyors and distribution equipment in part of the facility, and a lot of food manufacturing equipment in the other. The team is small but growing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
