The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. This person is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest or residents’ requests and other work orders as assigned. They are also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, etc., as assigned.
What you have
License or experience in one or more trade including: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air conditioning, and refrigeration units
Experience in hotel building systems, or hospitality related maintenance field
Excellent communication skills, in written and verbal formats
Strong customer service skills
Technology skills. The ability to use tablets, iPads, and computers
Eagerness to work on a team and achieve goals and complete projects together
Basic knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, electronic systems, fire alarm systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and energy conservation.
Ability to work long hours if needed
A strong sense of ownership in everything that you do
High school diploma, equivalent, or higher
What you’ll do
Handle and complete guest maintenance requests in a timely fashion
Do periodic property tours and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal, lighting examination, and irrigation check up
Perform repair and preventative maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, laundry equipment, exhaust fans, vacuum, and other equipment throughout the hotel
Report emergencies and safety hazard immediately and assist with safety concerns
Maintain the maintenance area or department in a clean and orderly state, to include cleaning, inspection, and inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
Actively engage and promote safety and safe work practices, interdepartmentally and hotel wide
Communicate daily activities and work orders to other shifts using approved communication methods and standards
Interact with hotel guests to resolve maintenance issues in a professional and courteous matter that is align with Mainsail standards
Comply with Mainsail Lodging and Development’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
Other necessary duties as assigned by reasonably assigned

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates form their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
