Job Title: Maintenance Technician in Ames, IA

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will assist in the preparation and implementation of the General Utilities preventative maintenance schedule. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of equipment, including boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and more. Your role will require you to monitor the functioning of general utilities, order and replace parts as needed, and communicate any operational changes to managers and other personnel. Additionally, you will maintain HVAC systems, assist in the maintenance of fire prevention systems, document maintenance activities in systems such as CMMS, and support new hire training and cross-training efforts.

Work Environment

The facility operates 24/7 with maintenance technicians on each shift, working on a 2 on 2 off, 3 on schedule, resulting in working every other weekend. The shift hours are from 6 PM to 6 AM. New hires will train on the day shift for a couple of months. The dress code allows for jeans but no sweatpants or t-shirts. The facility can get warm due to the use of massive dryers to dry out pasta, so candidates should be comfortable with this environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed boots, hair nets, and beard nets (if necessary) will be provided. The facility follows GMP regulations, so jewelry is not allowed. The general environment maintains a temperature of 85+ degrees with 85% humidity in most areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AMES, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
