**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will maintain and repair all mechanical equipment within our facility, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and performing overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems. Additionally, you will perform basic machine shop duties, including grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and machining. **Responsibilities** + Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment in the facility. + Inspect, repair, and perform overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems. + Perform basic machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and machining. + Conduct basic installation, maintenance, and modification on equipment and control systems. + Troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives, and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters. + Be available for rotating on-call duty during weekends to address emergencies. **Essential Skills** + Proficient in troubleshooting and maintenance repair. + Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. + Ability to repair and maintain motors, PLC controls, and conveyor systems. + Skilled in preventive maintenance and industrial repair. + Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, technical sketches, manuals, and schematics. + Elementary understanding of basic electrical maintenance with PLC and repair. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma. + One to two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, preferably in a steel processing environment. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders. + Work independently with minimal supervision. + Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. + Must have own tools; specialty tools will be provided. + Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and inspection techniques. + Ability and willingness to use knowledge, creativity, and initiative in continuously improving bottom line results. + Ability and willingness to further develop skills and abilities through formal education and practical internal and external training programs. **Why Work Here?** We recognize that a comprehensive benefit program is an important part of your total compensation package. Standard shifts are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. We also offer 12-hour shifts from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Hours may periodically flex up and down depending on business needs, but you can always count on a lot of work, so candidates need to be committed. The building has a great filtration system. Our facility includes 5 coil polishing lines (up to 60" wide), 4 sheet polishing lines (up to 60" wide), 2 plate polishing lines (up to 72" wide), 5 buffing lines (up to 144" wide), 1 extrusion buffing line, 3 cut-to-length lines (up to 84" wide x .220" thick), and 2 slitting lines (up to 60" x .250" thick). **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
