Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Chehalis, WA. The salary range for this position is from 23.50/hr – 32.90/hr DOE.

The Maintenance Technician must be a highly motivated, self-directing individual who works great with others to perform duties in the repair and maintenance of a manufacturing facility. Job tasks include, but are not limited to, general maintenance, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, general repair and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Technician must project a positive attitude, be open and willing to help others when needed and have excellent attendance.

What Success Looks Like:

Determines, by scheduled inspections, the maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls. Helps to design, install, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul production equipment and support systems. Maintains fire protection and safety equipment. Works with plant leadership to identify and prioritize maintenance projects Provides technical assistance to all production personnel, including supervisors and the Production Manager on machine setups, tooling, grinding operations, ways to utilize equipment, and other areas as needed. Makes purchasing decisions and maintains parts inventory as directed by maintenance manager/lead. Follows and monitors safety rules and procedure; this may include representing the department at Safety Committee meetings. Assists in plant layout and design. Works on projects as directed by Management.

 

We're looking for a candidate that has:

2-year technical college degree or equivalent experience in related field Strong mechanical ability Electrical experience Welding and shop experience Hydraulics and pneumatics experience Knowledge of safety and environmental practices, regulations, and procedures Ability to troubleshoot issues Possess the desire for participate in continuous improvement projects and lead where needed Valid drivers license
