**Position Purpose:**
Performs the full range of skilled and complex tasks in the maintenance and repair of operating equipment associated with wastewater and re-use treatment systems in compliance with established routines to ensure they are adequately serviced to perform their intended function.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Installs, maintains, and repairs pumps, motors, blowers, mechanical and electrical drives, electronic process controls, and instrumentation. Accurately update manual and computerized records related to work activities. Perform field or shop inspections of equipment to determine repair needs or estimate cost of repairs; propose necessary changes to systems, procedures, and equipment, and communicate status of repair, maintenance or fabrication work.
+ Safely and correctly verify a circuit is de-energized. Perform basic circuit checks for shorts, opens and ground faults using a multi-meter. Perform continuity and resistance checks on relay coils and contacts, overloads, fuses, circuit breakers, switches and other control circuit components. Take clamp-on ammeter readings on 3-phase circuits and interpret readings.
+ Read and interpret simple ladder and schematic diagrams.
+ Test single-phase power distribution systems for correct wiring. Use Megohmeter to perform resistance tests. Troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
+ Operates and maintains motor vehicles, hand and power tools and electrical, electronic and other testing equipment.
+ Installation of motor / pump couplings. Repair and replacement of chemical feed pumps, controllers and piping.
+ Troubleshoot Vacuum Assisted sewage systems, including valve programming, blower and pump operation. Diagnose and repair flow control valves and meters.
+ Operate Programmable logic controller systems and communication systems.
+ Interpret the OSHA requirements for working on water / wastewater related systems. Determine the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for working on water and wastewater systems.
+ Assist water and wastewater treatment facility operators to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are being completed by operating staff.
+ Accurately update manual and computerized records related to work activities.

**Work Environment:**
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to a variety of outside weather conditions, including very hot temperatures.
+ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High School Diploma/GED is required.
+ 4 years journey-level experience demonstrating the knowledge and ability to service, maintain, and repair equipment.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Knowledge of maintenance of pumps, valves, compressors, engines, electronics, buildings, tanks, water distribution and gravity collection systems.
+ Basic understanding of water distribution collection systems.
+ Ability to communicate with all levels including team, management, clients, and vendors in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
+ Mechanical aptitude required.
+ Safety procedures in maintenance and operations.
+ Must be able to interpret work from sketches, schematic drawing and other diagrams and to follow written and verbal instruction.
+ Working knowledge of MicroSoft Office.
+ Must be able to operate electric motors fueled by gasoline, diesel, or gaseous fuels, paint, welding, and fabrication equipment, and other hand tools required.
**Required Certification/Licenses/Training:**
+ Valid MO driver's license required.
+ Specialized training courses desired.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
+ The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
+ The employee may regularly lift 10-20 pounds and may occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to distinguish color, close vision and distance vision.
