Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our PVC and plastic extrusion plant. The ideal candidates will have experience in dismantling and reassembling equipment, troubleshooting hydraulics, and working with hand tools. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and able to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role requires at least two to three years of manufacturing maintenance experience, and three years of experience with safety procedures and lock out tag out. Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs and 480 volts, is essential.

ResponsibilitiesObserve mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.Troubleshoot electrical circuits to determine problems.Dismantle devices to gain access to remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, and straight edges.Repair or replace defective parts (electric and mechanical) using hand tools and power tools.Install special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.Start devices to test their performance.Apply a push or pull force of 100 lbs. and lift a minimum of 75 lbs.Read blueprints.Work with 110v systems and troubleshoot hydraulics.Essential SkillsExperience in hydraulics, extrusion, and plastic equipment.Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs and 480 volts.Proficiency in pneumatics and preventive maintenance.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, product manuals, equipment manuals, and safety protocols.Mechanical experience with gears, boilers, pumps, and motors.Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with hand tools and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school education or equivalent.Two years of technical school or related experience.Two years of experience repairing and servicing a variety of machines.Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.Experience with welding, lathe, mill, repair, and facilities maintenance.Openness to shift work, including rotating shifts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Our facility is a non-climate controlled plastics manufacturing plant. The available shifts are 1st shift (7 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday) and night shifts for technicians (7 PM to 7 AM, 12-hour shifts on an A/B/C/D rotation). You will stay on either days or nights, with two positions available for each shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUNTSVILLE, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
