Position Summary:
Join our cutting-edge team as a Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in the production of consumable micro-fluidic cartridges & capillary-based Western Blot cartridges in a clean room environment. This position requires a dynamic individual who can provide engineering support to maintain and enhance our semi-automatic manufacturing processes. You'll work closely with both the production and engineering teams to ensure the smooth operation of automated and semi-automated equipment, including pick and place systems, liquid dispensing equipment, fluidics bonding processes, and inspection stations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain continuous operation of production equipment within a cleanroom setting by troubleshooting issues, performing repairs or parts replacements, and making necessary adjustments.
Conduct preventive maintenance on various production equipment and assembly stations to prevent downtime.
Document preventative maintenance procedures
Implement daily quality assurance checks to maintain production standards.
Foster open and effective communication with operators and engineering staff regarding equipment functionality and maintenance needs.
Collaborate actively with the engineering team to troubleshoot equipment/process issues and integrate solutions.
Oversee and participate in the validation of equipment modifications and testing in the production environment.
Be prepared to gather & show records of maintenance events during audits
Required Skills:
Proven mechanical skills with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience.
Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with strong organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge in electrical and electronics, including troubleshooting, assembly, soldering, wire crimping, as well as understanding of power, instrumentation, and digital communications.
Solid foundation in general math and science principles.
Desired Skills:
Experience with automation and assembly technologies such as pneumatics, vacuum systems, motors, actuators, and fixtures.
Familiarity with control logic; experience with LabVIEW, Beckhoff and PLC control systems ’s is advantageous.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, molding, and material properties.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical disciplines, or….
At least 3 years of experience in an Engineering Technician role, in addition to a technical high school diploma.
Physical Demands:
This role requires working in normal production environments, including Bio-Labs and Clean Rooms.
Ability to lift and manage packages weighing up to 35 lbs.
