**Buildings and Facilities Maintenance Technician (HVAC) 1st shift** **Job Description** The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing all electrical and mechanical machine maintenance, as well as maintaining facilities. This individual is also responsible for fabrication and project work, and executing daily preventive maintenance tasks. The role requires the ability to independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain shop floor production machinery, cranes, forklifts, and other machines. **Responsibilities** + Utilize various trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. + Respond to work order requests promptly. + Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. + Perform quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems. + Coordinate and complete system and building repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. + Regularly inspect building exteriors, interiors, parking lots, and grounds. + Troubleshoot operational failures and re-establish building services with minimal supervision. + Quickly respond to emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed. + Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks. + Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. + Dismantle machinery and replace defective parts. + Determine changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments. + Read and interpret equipment manuals to understand how to operate and maintain them properly. + Communicate with management and operators about equipment faults and maintenance techniques. + Maintain scheduled preventive maintenance daily. + Perform facility exterior maintenance and repairs. + Maintain lockout/tagout procedures. + Maintain the facilities infrastructure, both internal and external. **Essential Skills** + 1-5 years of electrical, machine, and mechanical maintenance experience. + Experience working with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and masonry. + Ability to perform preventive maintenance. + Ability to read blueprints. + Experience with HVAC and industrial welding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Relevant trade certification and/or licensure preferred. + Solid working knowledge of facilities electrical and plumbing systems. + Preferred knowledge in Powder Coat Systems, Curing Ovens, Material Handling, Fabrication Equipment. + Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment. + In-depth knowledge of air and heating coal systems preferred. + Ability to lift and move heavy equipment. + Familiarity with all OSHA safety standards and regulations. + Skilled in analyzing information and communication. **Why Work Here?** This role offers an opportunity to grow into five unique responsibilities, rather than being restricted to one type of job. Technicians typically have their own carts with tools but are encouraged to use personal tools they prefer for daily tasks. Maintenance hours are from 5am to 6pm, with a variable schedule on Saturdays, provided with one week's notice.
