Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician I (Carpenter) is responsible for construction, maintenance and repair of building fixtures and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Performs general facility maintenance to include flooring, sheet rock, painting, and general interior building maintenance
Performs general exterior maintenance to include building upkeep and repairs, parking lot maintenance, and lawn and landscaping upkeep
Construction and finishing including painting of walls and cabinetry in the plant
Installation and painting of doors, windows, ceilings, specialized cabinet work and other tasks as assigned
Responsible for decision making regarding materials and methods to be used
Must work with other trades assigned in completion of projects
General maintenance tasks such as painting, moving furniture, and machines
Repairs to buildings and equipment
Drive vehicles to pick up materials at vendors
May be required to do other duties such as delivery and pick up of tools and equipment, furniture assembly and moving, and the like
Works with hazardous materials such as paints and solvents to include storage and shipment
Hand-select lumber and materials for construction projects
General record keeping and filing
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
Support team members in their primary job functions, cross training and employee growth strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in carpentry and construction methods in a manufacturing environment. Experience with construction, carpentry, and woodworking tools, including power tools; with knowledge and understanding about safe use and handling
Knowledge: Proficiency in all maintenance trades; read blueprints and work from prints, sketches and verbal instructions; Proficiency in design and construction of cabinets and furniture type projects
Skills/Abilities: Communication skills to work with other trades and provide guidance in construction projects; follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision; understand methods and use of measuring tools and systems
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Apprenticeship or any additional certification

Manufacturing areas may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
Conditions include typical industrial environments including indoor and outdoor year-round
Must be able to work at heights
Tasks may include the use of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, lifts, hand and power tools, meters and probes
Physical locations may require lying in prone position, kneeling, squatting, lifting, and occasional overhead reaching
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, ladder work, forklift driving (training provided) and use of tools requiring physical strength and dexterity
Some work may take place in production areas where discipline is required to reduce distractions for other employees
Some weekend and extended hours are required based on equipment availability and production needs
Standing: 90% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
Sitting: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
Lifting (in pounds): up to 50 pounds
Pushing (in pounds): up to 75 pounds
Mental/Visual: Use of computer.

Salary range: $25.73 to $32.30. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
