The Maintenance Technician is part of the team that maintains and optimizes our equipment reliability to ensure production and quality goals are met. Applicants need to possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be considered:
Skills:
Technical understanding and skills with a focus on safety Familiarity and experience with motors, drives, contacts, relays, timers, PLC's, PC's.Corrugated equipment maintenance experience or related heavy industrial maintenance experienceUnderstanding of control circuits, hydraulics and pneumaticsEnsure compliance with all Safety and Quality standards, processes, proceduresWillingness to take initiative, learn new skills and help team membersGeneral computer skills such as the ability to navigate through program screensEnsure compliance with all Safety and Quality standards, processes, proceduresStrong reasoning and problem solving skillsAwareness of OSHA standards for electrical safety
Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to perform electrical, mechanical and welding work as necessaryAbility to read and understand wiring schematics, machine manuals, mechanical drawings and blueprintsAbility to read and understand production specifications Knowledge of preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinesMust maintain excellent attendance reliabilityMust be able to work in a 24/7 environment, 12hr shiftsWilling to work any shift Willing to work overtime, as needed
Education:
Corrugating and manufacturing experience, a plusAssociate's degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Machining, or a related field experience preferredDemonstrated advanced training or certification In the maintenance mechanical/electrical industry Smurfit Westrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
