About the role This position is responsible for repairing, adjusting, and/or maintaining industrial production and processing machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. This position performs complex troubleshooting and repairs with minimal direction and oversight. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures. Supports a quality work environment by following appropriate policies and procedures. Completes weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance duties on Operations machinery, equipment, and tooling per preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and as assigned Documents required repairs and maintenance tasks. Observes gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly. Inspects equipment, products, materials, or packaging to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Repairs or maintains the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment. Utilizes appropriate diagnostic problem-solving techniques. Oversees repairs or replacements of broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment. Oversees and performs re-assemblies of equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Cleans, lubricates, or adjusts parts, equipment, or machinery. Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear. Has a body of knowledge to work on different manufacturing equipment/processes due to a broader scope of knowledge of production equipment and does so with advanced troubleshooting skills. Works on projects assigned by supervisor Coaches more junior technicians on diagnosing and repairing equipment Cleans work areas using basic cleaning materials Performs changeovers and set-ups to equipment as required. Utilizes root cause analysis to suggest/implement improvements as part of Continuous Improvement Teams. Completes process checks on specified quality forms and records. Assures all assigned equipment safety guarding is in place and all areas of the machine are clean, neat, and organized. Monitors Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to ensure set standards are achieved or exceeded. Qualifications Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance Must possess a high level of knowledge of machine and tooling maintenance requirements Must have the ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery, tooling and equipment Must have the ability to run basic machine shop equipment Must have the ability to accurately use calipers, dial indicators and micrometers Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Products and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Mgmt. System) Must possess basic CAD skills to review machine designs and identify parts and documentation needed to repair machines and equipment Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and mentor team to drive towards success and foster a culture of excellence. Efficiently manages time and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and goals. Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Builds strong relationships with others, fostering a supportive and engaged workplace. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% machine maintenance, and/or walking and assisting production employees. Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor or maintenance area where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection must be worn in marked areas. Eye and foot protection must be worn in marked areas. Education & Experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate degree in technical field preferred Minimum of three (3) years related experience or two (2) years technical training Training in maintenance/repair of mechanical equipment and machinery required Training in industrial electrical repair and maintenance required Experience in metal fabrication and welding preferred. Experience operating and maintaining PLCs used to control manufacturing processes preferred.
