Maintenance Technician - Industrial Automation

Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesWe're hiring a 1st shift Maintenance Technician. The METTLER TOLEDO Maintenance department is dedicated to ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all equipment, facilities, and grounds. The Industrial Automation Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in this effort, focusing on installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and facilities maintenance, all while contributing to the overall profitability and shareholder value of the organization.
This role requires active participation and continuity in our team environment to identify opportunities for improvement, utilizing critical thinking, problem solving and lean manufacturing fundamentals. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary to fulfill the role as an Industrial Automation Maintenance Technician:
Manage the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs within the manufacturing environment. Lead training efforts within the TPM/PM programs. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to enhance and maintain training documentation relevant to plant equipment operation. Monitor and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Promote cohesion between automation and maintenance groups to identify and research improvements for effective equipment utilization and process enhancement. Integrate new or modify existing, controls logic and interfaces for PLC and HMI controlled equipment. Assist with maintaining controller software licensing, updates, and program back-ups for manufacturing equipment. Serve as the primary maintenance contact related to automation and equipment improvements. Adjust and calibrate equipment to established manufacturer's specifications. Troubleshoot and lend technical support for the repair of automation and manufacturing equipment. Apply Lean Manufacturing Fundamentals to daily activities. Provide onsite and remote emergency support for unplanned production equipment outages within Maintenance. Available to work OT when requested or required, to support High Production volumes and/or Maintenance Projects. Other duties may be assigned.What You Need to SucceedCommercial/Industrial Electrician or Industrial Maintenance Technician.Proficient in Electrical Motor Control installations and troubleshooting.Experience with single and three phase systems up to 480V.Ability to use a variety of metering devices to perform electrical diagnostics.3-5 years of PLC programming, troubleshooting and diagnostics is required.Multi-Skilled with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment such as Overhead Cranes, CNC machines, Robotics, Welders, Lighting, Plumbing, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics.Ability to read and reference equipment manuals for troubleshooting.Ability to work from a ladder, platform, scissor/articulating lift or similar equipment.Intermediate computer skills and familiarity MS Office products.Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.Display skills in leadership, communications and positively influencing others.Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.Actively pursue and complete continuing education training opportunities to enhance professional development.
