GENERAL DUTIES

Supervisory functions:
- Performs verbal counseling and disciplinary actions.
- Maintains supervisor's notes and helps with employee evaluations.
- Schedules work orders and participates in the hiring process.
- Evaluates all maintenance requests, sets priorities and processes departmental work assignments.Maintenance and Construction:
- Performs corrective and preventative maintenance/repairs of finishes.
- Maintains a high craft level.
- Manages, coordinates, and schedules vendors to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Maintains all mechanic’s supplies, tools and inventory stock.
- Monitors and controls budget expenditures.Patient Safety/Fire Life Safety:
- Has knowledge of life safety, patient safety and infection prevention measures pertaining to craft trades.
- Leads mechanics to maintain compliance with regulatory surveys, building codes and fire/life safety standards.Troubleshoot repairs:
- Actively seeks, investigates, identifies, resolves and documents all needed repairs in a timely manner.
- Strives for a safe, clean, and damage free environment.
- Maintains all departmental and organizational policy paperwork for regulatory compliance.Communication/Teamwork:
- Communicates with the requester of work orders to clarify concerns and ensure satisfactory results.
- Provides assistance to other tradesmen or vendors.Time Management/Service Training:
- Manages time to close work orders per department standards.
- Plans activities and mechanic’s workload to limit unnecessary work.
- Displays a strong understanding of in-service training and applies principles.
- Prioritizes, and organizes work tasks and works with little supervision.


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician or related area.Experience in a clinical/hospital setting preferred.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Bachelor's Degree from an approved trade or vocational school with courses in mathematics, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing or have its equivalent in work experience
