Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician Level 3/4 to support our Maintenance Team on site at our East Gate Layton, Utah location. 

The Maintenance Technician performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Job Duties:

Perform mechanical and or electrical troubleshooting on all equipmentPerform routine mechanical / electrical / electronic preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including our CNC and automated machines, Boilers, Autoclaves, HVAC systems, General lighting, Air compressors, Hydraulic systems, Overhead Cranes etc.Job activities align with that of a typical Millwright positionOther duties to support Maintenance Team as assignedShift as follows: Dayshift Monday- FridayHours: 6:00 AM-3:30 PM

This requisition can be filled as a Maintenance Technician 3 or Maintenance Technician 4.

Basic Qualifications:

Maintenance Technician Level 3:

High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry as an Electrical / Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician or MillwrightCertificate of Training in a Journeyman level Automated Maintenance Technician Program (4 years working as a supporting tradesman may qualify in lieu of certificate)Ability to obtain DOD secret security clearanceAbility to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Maintenance Technician Level 4:

High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry as an Electrical / Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician or MillwrightCertificate of Training in a Journeyman level Automated Maintenance Technician Program (6 years working as a supporting tradesman may qualify in lieu of certificate)Ability to obtain DOD secret security clearanceAbility to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Licensed Journeyman or Master tradesman (plumber, pipefitter, millwright, etc.)Experience with 3 phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring and troubleshooting of such systemsCertifications or demonstrated competency repairing complex electro-mechanical systemsCertifications or demonstrated competency repairing automated motion control systemsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.Working knowledge of HVAC maintenanceCurrent active DOD secret security clearance

Salary Range: $51,200.00 - $85,400.00Salary Range 2: $60,800.00 - $101,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
