1st and 2nd Shift Available: 6am-6:30pm and 6pm-6:30am, on a 2-2-3 schedule.  

$25-$33/hr with Retention Bonus and Night Differential for Second Shift 

Job purpose / summary / objective 

Ensures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Complies with protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety.  Regularly inspect buildings, grounds, machines, and equipment to identify potential issues. Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment to keep in good running order. Assist in troubleshooting problems, and perform minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime. Work collaboratively with Operations Team to share knowledge and contribute to a Continuous Improvement environment. Protect the company's investment in machinery and equipment by exercising proper care, skill and knowledge. 

General Knowledge and Skills 

Understanding of general maintenance processes and methodsConduct maintenance and troubleshooting of some industrial robotsAbility to properly document Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand toolsMust understand basic electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems  Willingness to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organizationFollow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazardsOperate company vehicles to complete maintenance activities on the exterior of the facility and within the truck yard, as well as travel to nearby facilities and local stores to procure parts and suppliesPerforms all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping.Capable to work at heights from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe manner.Capable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.) Willing to be certified through Bright Farms TrainingMust be able to work overtime if required.Work efficiently and effectively with supervision in a team environment.Familiar with basic machine shop equipment (ex: lathes and mills)

Duties/Responsibilities 

Repairs or replaces defective electrical, plumbing, or mechanical componentsMaintain and troubleshoot all electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, packaging equipment, palletizers, etc.Disassembles, replaces, or repairs mechanical and electrical componentsMaintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, encoders, etc.Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, software, and Programmable Logic Controls Provide technical assistance when problems are encounteredAssist with the installation and maintenance of electrical control systems and equipmentMaintain electrical, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviationsKnow and understand method and sequence of operations for troubleshooting and testing equipmentFamiliar with basic wiring diagrams, symbols, blueprints, and electrical measuringAbility to troubleshoot basic Input/Output functions Preventive/predictive maintenance proceduresFamiliar with industrial controls, electronics, conveyance, systems, and pneumatic

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED3-5 years of trade school, or equivalent military/work experienceAbility to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as requiredClimb stepsLift 50 pounds and maintain balanceAbility to perform duties in extreme varying temperaturesCrawl over, under and into equipment within company LOTO procedures as necessary to perform job dutiesWork from ladders and lifts

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree in a technical or industrial field.Food or agriculture industry experienceUnderstanding of advanced industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required 

Greenhouse/Outside/Coolers/Office. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often Work near moving mechanical parts including in the vicinity of occasional high noise environments is required. 

Physical requirements 

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
