1st and 2nd Shift Available: 6am-6:30pm and 6pm-6:30am, on a 2-2-3 schedule.  

$34-$37/hr with Retention Bonus and Night Differential for Second Shift 

Job purpose / summary / objective 

Ensures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Complies with protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety.  Provide technical knowledge and service, install, and maintain the electrical/mechanical needs of the plant. Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment to keep in good running order. Troubleshoot problems, recommend, and perform mechanical repairs to minimize downtime. Work collaboratively with Operations Team to share knowledge and contribute to a Continuous Improvement environment. Protect the company's investment in machinery and equipment by exercising proper care, skill and knowledge in the use of Company investments. 

General Knowledge and Skills 

Familiarity of CMMS for completion of work orders, maintaining records of repairs, calibrations, and testsUtilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, process, and instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systemsRead and interpret electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches to determine problem and make appropriate repairsPerforms all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeepingCapable to work from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe mannerCapable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.) Willing to be certified through Bright Farms TrainingWork efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment

Duties/Responsibilities 

Perform automated and non-automated equipment and system repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)Perform required preventative maintenance tasks for automated and non-automated equipmentDiagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systemsRepairs or replaces defective componentsExperienced in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, amp clamps and meggers to test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, defective parts and replaces or repairs to suiteDisassembles replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical componentsMust be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective actionTroubleshoots and repairs electrical/mechanical problems in automated and non-automated systemsInstalls, calibrates and repair process instrumentsParticipate in efforts to improve existing equipment and systems to reduce safety issues, improve process flow, and reduce downtimeMust be able to work overtime if requiredMust be knowledgeable with basic electronic control devicesProvide technical assistance and resolution when electrical problems are encounteredAssemble and maintain electrical and electronic systems according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instrumentsInstall and maintain electrical control systems and equipmentMaintain electrical, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviationsAnalyze and interpret information to resolve operating problemsEvaluate and utilize shop electrical drawings for sound electrical troubleshooting practiceKnow and understand method and sequence of operations for troubleshooting and testing equipment

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED2-4 years of trade school, or equivalent military/work experience3-5 years of experience in equipment maintenanceAbility to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as requiredClimb stepsLift 50 pounds and maintain balanceAbility to perform duties in extreme varying temperaturesCrawl over, under and into equipment within company LOTO procedures as necessary to perform job dutiesWork from ladders and lifts

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree in a technical or industrial fieldFood or agriculture industry experienceTraining in Food Safety and SanitationKnowledge of common industrial NEC and NFPA codesUnderstanding of typical industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required 

Greenhouse/Outside/Coolers/Office. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Work near moving mechanical parts including in the vicinity of occasional high noise environments is required. 

Physical requirements 

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
