Martin Foods has a need for a full-time multi-craft maintenance mechanic to join our team in Houston, TX. Our facility produces various meat products for a multitude of restaurants throughout our region. We are seeking a mechanic experienced in working within a manufacturing environment repairing, maintaining, and installing all types of food production equipment and machinery, as well as general facilities maintenance.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Director.
Internal Contacts: Indirect relationships with all Plant, Warehouse, and Management.
Responsibilities Include:
Provides support to the production staff to minimize downtime and maintain high safety and quality standards.Perform scheduled equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program.Troubleshoot and repair all process equipment as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible.Initiates purchase order for equipment and facility needs.To work in a manner which is safe, clean, and well organized. RequirementsA minimum of 2 years’ experience as a mechanic in a production/manufacturing environment, food industry is preferred.
Well versed in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems.Experience in the use of basic hand tools, electrical meters, grinding equipment, drill press and band saws.Refrigeration and HVAC experience is a definite plus.Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical drawings, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Must be able to perform basic math.Need to also have the ability to communicate effectively with employees in the organization.Welding (ARC, TIG, MIG).We Offer:
