Role and Responsibilities
Schedule:
12 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Overtime
Weekends as needed
Maintenance Technician is a multi-craft position and is responsible prevention of
equipment breakdowns, reduction of downtime in the event of a breakdown.
Responsible for collecting data on breakdowns and documentation of repair
details as directed by the team leader and/ or Maintenance Manager.
Works hand in hand with production to ensure the efficiency of the lines and Uses
5S to help organize maintenance materials. Must be capable of continually
improving the process to ensure line up time and line efficiency.
Uses Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) to ensure everyone’s safety and reports unsafe
conditions.
Specific Tasks:
· Repairing items in the facility in a timely manner.
· Setting up and testing equipment.
· Boiler monitoring and Water chemical treatment monitoring recording of data.
· Using CMMS, fills out parts request forms and forecasts critical parts orders.
· Welding mild steel and stainless steel.
· Changing motors, gearboxes, chains, gaskets, seals,
· Programs drives and uses HMI screens for adjustments.
· Repairs Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical breakdowns
· Works hand in hand with Production, QA, Management to maintain a teamwork
work environment.
Work Experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
· Communication skills- ability to communicate with all levels of employees as well
as management, so information is conveyed effectively.
· Ability to provide rapid response to emergency breakdowns on any or all parts of
the line.
· Perform quick analysis and repair on both mechanical and electrical issues on
equipment.
· Work from mechanical and/ or electrical schematics, sketches, manuals,
specifications, written, or oral instructions.
· Assists in the training of others on necessary skills to perform repairs, set up, or
troubleshooting.
· Skill level to operate equipment in teach mode from HMI or teach pendant
without assistance.
· Technical ability to demonstrate sound methodology in the execution of the
mechanical, Hydraulic, and electrical repairs of equipment and in providing long
term resolution to equipment failures.
· Ability to program AC/DC drives. PLC programming is a plus.
· Under minimal directions, work directly from a work order.
· Perform scheduled PMs as assigned.
Experience in the following:
· Intermediate to advanced mechanical, electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, HVAC, PLC
theory and applications.
· Intermediate to advanced AC/DC motor controls and PLC control logic.
· Intermediate computer skills with use of Spreadsheet, Word, Outlook, etc.
· Seamer training and experience is a plus
· 3-5 years previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is
required.
· 3-5 years previous experience of Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electrical
and theory of such items.
· AC/DC motor controls and PLC control logic is preferred.
· Associates degree in Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or electrical technologies is
preferred.
· Boiler operator certificate is preferred.
· Training on Kuka robots is preferred.
· Training in electronics is a plus.
· Minimum of 2-3 years in a food processing environment.
· Minimum of 3-5 years in a packaging equipment repairs.
· Chemical training for water de-chlorination is a plus.
· 3-5 years previous industrial kitchen equipment repairs.
· Retort experience is a plus.
· Experience in the use of CMMS.
· 5S, 5Y, HACCP, LOTO, CI
· Seamer Training and experience is a plus
