Job Purpose
Set up, adjust, and maintain equipment to facilitate the highest possible production quality
Job Responsibilities
Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment. Plan for and take corrective action when problems occurReview production schedule to organize regular maintenanceEnsure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down timeAssist in clearing machine jamsTest equipment to verify proper working orderPerform quality checks using gauges, instruments and proper forms. Check finished product for visual defectsCheck and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate actionExamine defects and spoilage for possible causes and take appropriate action when possibleAnalysis of production delays. Summarize causes on daily production reportDirect line operators, packers, and service personnel, such as lift truck operators, in details of daily schedule, standard operating procedures and requirementsNotify maintenance supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, if applicableNotify maintenance supervisor of quality issues and supply needsInstruct and/or direct any maintenance trainees assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
