Job Description

We are currently hiring a Maintenance Technician - Packaging in Breinigsville, PA. This position requires industrial mechanical knowledge and some electrical expertise. The role involves diagnosing and repairing various machinery and process malfunctions. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair all machinery and process malfunctions, with a strong emphasis on mechanical troubleshooting and some electrical troubleshooting.Diagnose and repair mechanical power transmission equipment, including gearboxes, mechanical drives, and variable speed applications.Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, manifolds, vacuum systems, air filtration, and lubrication devices.Diagnose, repair, and overhaul process pumps, automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, and perform basic electrical AC/DC troubleshooting.Proficiently handle bearings, pulleys, chain drives, belt drives, and lubricants standards and applications.Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams.Lift up to 50 lbs, sometimes repeatedly.Walk and stand for long periods (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal, and grated surfaces.Perform tasks that require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing, and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day.Climb flights of stairs, work from heights, or on elevated platforms.Wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection, and hard hat).Handle materials, operate equipment, and interface with computer systems with precision.For roles such as forklift operator, sit for prolonged periods and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception.Essential SkillsExperience in installation and repair of mechanical, electrical, pumps, and valve cluster arrangements.Trending data analysis and problem-solving skills.Experience with VFDs, control systems (PLC's/HMI's), and electrical protective devices with knowledge of calibration procedures and equipment.Skilled in the use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools.Machining within specific tolerance using various measuring equipment.Knowledge of 480v 3 phase systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge and practice of NFPA 70E preferred.Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) is a plus.Excellent mechanical troubleshooting ability.2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, personal/process control computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and networking devices.

Work Environment

You will work in a large brewery in Breinigsville, PA, with two shift schedules: Sunday through Tuesday with a rotating Saturday from 5:30 pm - 6 am, and Wednesday through Friday with a rotating Saturday from 5:30 pm - 6 am. The environment involves frequent exposure to loud and constant noise, non-environmentally conditioned spaces that may lead to extreme hot and cold conditions, and a complex operating environment densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness. Overtime may be required, including 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays.

The pay range for this position is $66352.00 - $66352.00
