General Job Description:\n

Works under the direction of a foreman, assembles, sets up, adjusts, lubricates, maintains and repairs all types of equipment. This equipment includes but is not restricted to: cranes, welders, mobile equipment, dust collectors, bins, rails, fuel tanks, irrigation, construction equipment, electrical, plumbing, sewage, paint, and blast.\n

Functional Requirements:\n\nRead and sign off on JSA prior to starting of shift.\nRepairs equipment such as internal combustion engines, air compressors, pumps, etc.\nMay fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields or other devices according to blueprints or other schematic drawings.\nMay perform the duties of a welder in the repair of equipment.\nAlways maintains a clean and safe work environment.\n\n

Qualification Standards:\n\nMinimum of (1) year of industrial or military maintenance experience working in a general industrial maintenance shop with 480 volts, 3 phase electrical circuits or equivalent mechanical competency.\nCompletion of a one (1) year technical training certificate in an electro-mechanical degree program may be substituted for work experience or a two (2) year technical associate degree in an electro-mechanical field may be substituted for work experience.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nMust possess a valid driver license.\nPre-employment\/post-employment qualification test, if applicable.\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.\nTurner Industries Group\/Job site orientation\/Hazard Communication and required tests.\nJob site \"Personal Protective Equipment\" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses - OSHA approved Z87 if applicable, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.). \nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.\n\n

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:\n

Level C - Demonstrated proficiency in the following:\n\nInterpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and hydraulic\/pneumatic circuits.\n\n

Level B - In addition to level C qualifications, demonstrated proficiency in the following:\n\nThree (3) years of industrial or military maintenance experience having the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 480 volts, 3 phase electrical circuits or equivalent mechanical competency.\nMobile equipment repair including but not limited to forklifts, mobile cranes, etc.\n\n

Level A - In addition to level B qualifications, demonstrated proficiency in the following:\n\nFive (5) years of industrial or military maintenance experience having the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 480 volts, 3 phase electrical circuits or equivalent mechanical competency.\nRepairing overhead traveling bridge cranes, semi-gantry cranes and jib cranes\nAC and DC drives, programmable logic controllers and solid-state devices\n\n

Physical Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.\n

Mental Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and\/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.\n

Work Environment Factors:\n\nLocation: industrial construction sites and\/or pipe fabrication facility\nMobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and\/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas.\nClimatic\/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominantly outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances.\n\n

Miscellaneous Requirements:\n

There will be times that the individual may be required to perform a task other than their normal operation required by the company or the foreman, owing to the job demand.\n
