**In this role, you will:**
The primary function of this position is to safely maintain and improve equipment and process conditions to enable above-goal equipment efficiency in a cat litter manufacturing site.
+ Use structured problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including fillers, case packers, robotics, gear boxes, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and conveyors.
+ Use structured problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including motors, servos, motor control centers, variable speed drives, photo eyes, barcode scanners, proximity switches and transformers.
+ Support IM Pillar processes by participation in FI’s, Kaizens and IM Pillar team
+ Originate and help implement small turn-key electrical / mechanical projects.
+ Proactively conduct equipment inspections and perform required preventive maintenance duties in accordance with recommended schedules.
+ Replace worn components before equipment breakdown occurs.
+ Drives root cause analysis on breakdowns (Breakdown Elimination) and promotes prevention of reoccurrence.
+ Work with technical department and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability and minimize equipment downtime.
+ Assist in creation and presentation of all standard maintenance best practices and help to educate plant personnel in those practices.
+ Attend daily meeting to help convey actions being taken against downtime events.
+ Perform daily walkthrough of area observing, documenting and scheduling repair of any safety related problems as well as equipment abnormalities.
+ Support, promote, and utilize computerized maintenance management system for all documentation and scheduling of events, and tracking of inventoried spares.
+ Work independently and in a team environment while following safe and proper procedures with a high degree of quality, cleanliness, structure and reliability.
+ Help ensure good communication of issues across shift change.
+ Is responsible for safety and quality of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
+ Operates welder, drill press, cutoff saw, band saw, and other maintenance machinery and tools
+ Hourly Compensation: $34.73 per hour
**What we look for:**
+ Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics
+ Basic to advanced understanding of electrical systems
+ Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools
+ Knowledge of SAP PM preferred
+ Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
+ Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
+ Ability to work any shift.
+ Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
