Position Purpose:
The duties of the Maintenance Technician includes maintenance of all company structures, walkways, parking lots, and equipment at all plants, stations, substations, distribution reservoirs, dams, elevated tanks, etc.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Overhauls, cleans, adjusts, repairs: pumps, motors, valves, piping, compressors, heating and cooking system components, chemical equipment, lagoons/basins, filters, tanks, etc.Performs duties including those relating to masonry, plumbing, roofing, painting, and snow removal.Responsible for receiving, unloading, storing, and delivering chemicals (specific to the duties of the maintenance department) for all plants and system facilities (wells, boosters, tanks, and reservoirs). Applies chemicals to reservoirs as directed by management.Must maintain current pesticide operators license to receive hourly stipend.Must maintain current tanker endorsement on CDL license to receive hourly stipend.Must maintain current welding certificate to receive hourly stipend.Must maintain current RPZ certification to receive annual stipend.Flexible start time, as outlined in CBA.Performs other similar, or less skilled work, as assigned.Assists employees of a higher classification.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to operate heavy automotive equipment, power equipment, and power tools (drills, hammers, saws, etc.).Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Must possess Class B CDL State Operator license, with air break and hazardous materials endorsement. Existing employees bidding into this position, as well as new hires, will be required to obtain license within 60 days of starting job.Must possess a current Motor vehicle Operator license.Physical Requirements:
