The Machine Maintenance Intermediate Technician role is an entry level opportunity for Maintenance Technicians to build a career in an industry that is challenged to support the future of the power grid. S&C Electric Co is growing and the need for additional Maintenance Technicians due to critical demand for advancing complexity of equipment and increased demand. The Maintenance Leadership team has more than 100 years of experiences collectively which provides a great opportunity for new team members to learn, grow, and bridge skill sets. 

The Maintenance team is critical to supporting our operations by performing PM, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment to manufacture our products. The company has manufacturing facilities in Chicago and Palatine in Illinois and Franklin, Wisconsin.

S&C Electric Co. has launched a training program to provide customized training for Maintenance Technicians. At the end of the training program, the Service Member will be capable to function alone as a Maintenance Technician. Maintenance Leadership has developed a training program to provide new team members with training in the following areas. 

 

Intro Maintenance Fundamentals and PM (There are basic concepts and terminology commonly used in maintenance. This includes the usage of hand tools, repair of power tools and PM of standalone machines and systems such as powder paint lines) 80 Hrs. max  Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical Fundamentals (The goal is to gain a basic familiarity machine components and their operation in machines drive system). 120 Hrs. max  Equipment Diagnose & Repair (Use control diagrams, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot and problem-solve issues with fabrication and assembly equipment) 200hrs max 

Job Title: Upon completion of the Maintenance Technician training courses, this Skillbridge training program will prepare the Service member to become a Maintenance Technician.  

Job Placement: Service Member will be evaluated after training period.  S&C will determine if service member will be offered full-time opportunity. 

GI Bill 

The S&C Skill bridge Program does not require use of GI Bill dollars. 

Compensation during Training Period 

This is an unpaid training program. 

Cost of Program

S&C will cover training related expenses. No cost to service member.
