**Job Title: Maintenance Trades Helper**
**Job Description**
Assists in the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of cable systems. Ensures techniques, materials, and accomplishments meet technical standards, specifications, and engineering directives. Operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers and measuring equipment. Clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove materials for work. Assist other trade workers as needed. Laborers load and unload equipment, carry materials to skilled workers, remove paint and scale from ships’ metal surfaces using hand or powered wire brushes, convey materials and tools to work sites, load vehicles using hand trucks or dollies, wash trucks and other vehicles, and clean ships, piers, drydocks, and other working areas using brooms and water hoses. Open shipping crates using hammers and other tools.
**Responsibilities**

+ Convey materials and tools to work sites.
+ Load vehicles using hand trucks or dollies.

+ Open shipping crates using hammers and other tools.
**Essential Skills**
+ Must be able to obtain DBIDS.
+ Must be able to get OSHA/FW and RADCON training prior to starting.
+ Must have 1+ years of experience.
+ Capable of performing general laborer duties.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in marine repair.
+ Experience as a cable puller.
+ Firewatch experience.
+ Experience with hand and power tools.
+ Mechanical skills.
+ OSHA 10 certification.

**Work Environment**
Work will be performed onboard the USS Roosevelt at North Island. Employees will be required to work Monday through Saturday, with 10-hour days, totaling 60 hours a week.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.20 - $23.20
