This is where YOU fit in: Navy Exchange Lemoore is in need of a Maintenance Worker to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involves the upkeep and repair of all Navy Exchange Lemoore retail locations. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our activity duty Military and civilian patrons.
So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?
o Maintains a specific area orderly and clean by adhering to a set schedule and sequence which states the frequency of each task.
o Washes and replaces venetian blinds, washes ceiling fixtures, changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds.
o Cleans and maintains machines, equipment and makes adjustments accordingly. Reports all equipment malfunctions to supervisor and perform minor repairs to equipment.
o Performs simple building maintenance tasks. Uses tools such as hammers, handsaws, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
o Follows all local safety regulations. Informs supervisor of hazardous conditions.
o Operates motor vehicle in the performance of the duties.
The Qualifiers:
o Physical requirements: standing, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material/equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
o Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties.
ü One year of experience performing basic maintenance and janitorial work involving the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures and equipment.
ü One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience to HS Diploma or GED for year of general experience.
o Must possess a valid state driver’s license and pass a pre-employment criminal motor vehicle background check.
